About

Tokimaru Tanaka is a Tokyo-based content creator and extreme minimalist. He began photography following fieldwork in Bali while studying cultural anthropology. Through film, essays, and YouTube, he explores the relationship between society and the self. His creative practice is rooted in daily Ashtanga yoga, hiking, and a lifestyle defined by minimal gear. His latest works include the photo book Denpa (2024) and the essay collection notes on light and life (2025)—a compilation of thoughts drawn from nearly two decades of photographic practice. He earned his RYT200 certification at IYC in 2023.

東京在住のコンテンツクリエイター / エクストリームミニマリスト。文化人類学を学び、バリ島でのフィールドワークを契機に写真を始める。以後、映像・エッセイ・YouTubeなど多様なメディアを通じて、〈社会と私〉の関係を横断的に探求する。アシュタンガヨガとハイキングを日々実践し、最小限のギアと生活から創作を展開。近作に写真集『電波』（2024）、エッセイ集『撮ること、生きること』（2025）がある。後者は二十年近い写真実践から生まれた思考の断片を綴った作品。2023年、IYCにてRYT200を取得。
